Wheelchair Friendly Areas

Just because you may be in a wheelchair,  this does not mean you cannot  visit and enjoy what the Tablelands has to offer. Although not every attraction is wheelchair accessible, the following is a list of those that are.

Curtain Fig Tree - 1 km before Yungaburra. Boardwalk takes you right around the tree to give you the best view.

Cathedral Fig Tree - on the Danbulla State Forest/Boar Pocket Road.

Chinese Interpretive Centre - on Herberton Road.

Hallorans Hill Lookout - gentle sloping concrete path to BBQ area and views of the surrounding Tablelands.

Mt Hypipamee Crater & Dinner Falls - 10 minutes along a concrete path to the Crater itself. Dinner Falls is not accessible to wheelchairs, however you can hear and see part of the top falls from the pathway.

Lake Tinaroo Foreshore Walk - Half hour trip each way, the concrete path takes you around the edge of the lake with stopping areas located throughout.

All monthly markets are accessible, with Yungaburra being the most popular, followed by Tolga, then Mareeba. (see the Monthly Markets page under "Things to do")
